Location: Wheeler Audio 1925 Central KCMO 64108 http://www.wheeleraudio.com/

Cost: $100 (includes mp3's of your final takes for your VO demo)

This workshop will explore the world of being a Voice over actor. This is not a workshop to teach you how to act but to teach you the techniques to being a VO actor. You must have some experience doing voice overs to enroll. This can be having a VO demo already, having auditioned for VO jobs, or worked as a VO actor and just looking for more direction. Darren "Doc" Roubinek, from Fasone & Partners, will act as your the client and give you the direction and feedback from a producers standpoint. Deana Winter, from Wheeler Audio, will act as the Sound Engineer and give you direction from her point of view. You will be given 2 scripts to work on during the workshop. This workshop was created to give the actor an opportunity to get in a real recording studio and practice the craft of Voice over acting and be given direction and feedback by professionals currently working in the business.

This workshop is one of a kind and will not be offered often.

This workshop has a strict max of 12 students.

Darren "Doc" Roubinek- Copywriter…Producer…Creative Director…Ad Guy at Fasone & Partners since 1989. Over that time he has probably averaged writing/directing 150+ TV and radio spots a year. He has done a lot of goofy, cheesy things in front of the mic. He has had offended sensibilities and had spots banned from the airwaves. He's helped regular people sound like stars. He has worked with kids, dogs and Chinese translators and sold a lot of cars. What he knows for certain is that some voice over talent makes his job easier, and some makes it tougher. But there are no bad talents, only lazy writers/producers.

Deana Winter- Graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2002 and started working for Wheeler in September of 2003. Her fine arts background has come in handy with keeping the studio filled with both local art and her own art. When the new location was built, she was put in charge of the interior design. Wearing multiple hats is the only way to keep the office running. She helps in looking for a music searches or just want to know what is going on in the studios. She helps with estimates, scheduling, billing questions, music searches, lunch requests, master file look-up, radio spot distribution - the list goes on....
When she is not managing the front office, you might find her running for a political office, hanging an art show, volunteering for the City of Riverside, installing plumbing under the house with her husband or carting her daughter around to various dance competitions.
